If you know the folks at Cosworth Performance, then you’ll know of its racing history spanning more than five decades today. They’ve built a prestigious reputation for electrical and mechanical racing solutions, and today’s example pushes that envelope even further.
“The Intelligent Color Display (ICD) is a fully functioning logger, in addition to being a configurable display,” Jake Riederer of Cosworth told us. “It’s used in different Porsches, like the GT3 and the GT3-R for example.”
Riederer further detailed the new components available this year from Cosworth. “In lieu of using fuses and relays, our Power Distribution Box basically hooks right up to the battery. The device talks over a CAN network, so that in real time, everything is on its own circuit. If something trips, it can throw an alarm up, and sends a CAN message.”
“Our newest wheel is used in LMP-II Daytona prototypes in the IMSA sports car racing,” Riederer continued. “This is also a fully customizable display as well, similar to the last one. The coolest thing to us is that we can assign all of the buttons to basically anything, and the characteristics of assigning them is as easy as pressing a button.”
Riederer reminded us that everything we saw is available now. Looking for more information on Cosworth Performance‘s latest innovations? Head over to its website and check out what’s available now for your application today.
