ARH/Fark’s Supercars Camaro Wins Camaro5Fest with BMR Suspension

[1]Camaro5Fest rolled into Royal Purple Raceway [2] in Houston, Texas recently. The weekend of all-things-Camaro showcased the Unlimited class, which had the quickest and fastest 5th-Gen Camaros in the country battling it out for drag racing supremacy on the legendary Royal Purple Raceway 1320.

The American Racing Headers [3]/Fark’s Supercars [4] Camaro driven by Louis Filippides qualified at the top of the ladder with a strong 8.40 at 163 MPH – but that wasn’t all for the New York-based team. Filippides went on to dominate the competition during the elimination rounds, capping an event with with an 8.46 at 163 MPH in the final round to take home the event win over Louisiana’s Terry Williams – in the process running the quickest and fastest pass of the elimination sessions. Filippides made his way to the final round with wins over Robbie McKinley in the first round, a second-round by, and a semifinal win over Joe Huneycutt.

Filippides relies on the complete Drag Racing Suspension package from BMR Suspension [5], including their lower control arms, trailing arms, toe rods, upper coil-over mounts, and 15-inch rear brake conversion kit. Motivation is provided by a 430-cubic-inch RHS [6]-based LSX engine pumped up by a ProCharger [7] F-1C supercharger, making a whopping 1,200 horsepower.

The car’s best all-time 60-foot clocking is a 1.22, with a best pass of 8.39 at 163 MPH. BMR recently supplied the team with a set of newly-redesigned lower control arms to test, and the products have been up to the task of on-track performance. Amazingly, the car still relies on the OE independent rear suspension design fortified with the BMR products.
