[1]Back in the day, it seemed like every other Ford, Chevy, and Dodge dealership were turning out their own “special edition” muscle cars. Among them was Berger Chevrolet, a dealership in Grand Rapids, Michigan that has been modifying Camaros since they first came out. Berger announced a new special-edition 2010 Camaro over the summer, and has since sold out of the very-limited edition muscle car.
In response, Berger Chevrolet [2] has announced another special-edition Camaro, again with a supercharged 6.2 liter V8 but with a few more exterior and performance enhancements for the 2011 model. CamaroZ28 [3] came across the press release and shared it with the world.
Last year’s Berger Camaro was one bad customer, featuring a 550 horsepower supercharged 6.2 liter LS3 engine. That setup returns for 2011, and Berger sought to make the Camaro a better handling beast on the track, as it has a tendency to understeer. To solve that, they added a rear anti-sway bar to help sort out the back end. The biggest difference is in the looks, though. 11-inch wide Forgeline [4]wheels sit out the back, and the “shark fin” antenna has been painted Synergy Green, which covers the rest of the car as well.
While just 25 to 30 Berger Camaros will be built, Berger is offering an optional Appearance Package. This adds the Camaro “heritage” grille, a three-piece blade-style spoiler, billet SS and 550 horsepower emblems. The cost all adds up to a cost of $21,730, on top of the list price of a Camaro SS. That includes the supercharged 550 horsepower V8, a host of interior and suspension options, and one mean, green, muscle machine.
