Video: Watch The 2018 Corvette ZR1 Virtually Camo-Free

While surfing around on the good old interwebs, we happened to stumble across what appears to be new images of the 2018 Corvette ZR1 along with the above video from Corvetteblogger.com of not just one, but four different prototypes lapping Laguna Seca. This time, the cars were caught virtually camo-free and leave little to the imagination what the final renditions will really look like. In fact, if the 2018 ZR1 had a father, it would have stopped the ZR1 before it headed out on to the track yelling “Oh no! You’re not leaving this house in that skimpy thing.”

Luckily for us, we can seem almost every detail right through the camo. This is easily the best look that we’ve ever got of the ZR1’s sculpted new hood, and if there were any doubts that this beast would come with a supercharger toping what ever mill is under there, they should be put to rest by a lid that screams “there’s a roots-style blower under here”–not to mention the sound is fantastic.

While it’s hard to say, just by looking at the hood, we hope that the dual-over head cam LT5 that was recently revealed in Chevrolet’s 2018 manuals, is under there somewhere. One thing is for sure, however, and that’s that the front facia on the ZR1 looks like it is feeding fresh air to a monster set of calipers. At this point, we’d have to say that, in all likelihood, the ZR1 is packing a set of carbon ceramic brakes.

We again are seeing two different wings on each car, hinting that different aero packages may be available for the ZR1, similar to the three separate aero packages you can get on the C7 Z06–only these appear to be far more aggressive in their obvious track-focused design.

While much about the ZR1 is still unknown, we do know one thing: we are closer than we have ever been to seeing this thing in the flesh–or paint? Either way, we feel like kids on Christmas counting down the days to its reveal–though we don’t even know when that will be, which makes this much worse than Christmas.
