Carbon 65: Celebrating 65 Years Of America’s Favorite Sports Car

The Corvette has remained extremely popular ever since its inception and, although many changes come along with each new generation, the ‘Vette is still often referred to as “America’s favorite sports car.”

To celebrate the evolution of the Chevrolet brand and, more importantly, the Corvette over the past 65 years, Chevy has created a special edition of the iconic sports car.

Meet the 2018 C7 Corvette Carbon 65 Edition.

“Corvette is one of the most storied names in Chevrolet and sports car history, with a heritage few can match,” said Paul Edwards, U.S. vice president Chevrolet Marketing. “The new Carbon 65 Edition honors that legacy, while offering customers another unique, special-edition model that personalizes the ownership experience.”

The Carbon 65 Edition will only be available on 3LT models of the Grand Sport and Z06. Worldwide production will be capped at only 650 units.

The beautiful brand new Ceramic Matrix Metallic paint color is accented with multiple blue interior and exterior bits, along with “CARBON 65” graphics. Of course, the car is flooded with carbon fiber– most notably boasting carbon fiber splitters, quarter panel ducts, spoiler and, on the coupe, a carbon fiber roof. The convertible’s blue soft top comes along with a carbon tonneau cover.

The Carbon Edition’s upgrades don’t stop with just the exterior, though. Inside, passengers sit in sporty jet black suede Competition Seats featuring contrasting bright blue stitching. Carbon fiber bits are everywhere you look, even covering majority of the steering wheel.

As you probably guessed, these limited-edition ‘Vettes aren’t necessarily cheap– adding roughly $15K onto the price of a normal C7. Assuming Chevy doesn’t up the pricing for the upcoming model year, this means a Grand Sport Carbon would start at $91,190 and a Z06 Carbon at $104,390. They will roll into dealers sometime this summer, along with the rest of the 2018 lineup.
