Concept To Production: The 2017 Camaro Redline Edition

A couple years back at the SEMA Show, Chevrolet brought along a slew of brand spankin’ new “Redline” concept cars in which they threw on a bunch of performance parts, stealthy aesthetic pieces and, of course, a unique color scheme. The majority of fans’ responses were extremely positive and, now, Chevy is bringing multiple “Redline” edition vehicles into full production. Nine, to be exact.

“The SEMA Show has proven to be a great way to identify customization trends in the industry, and quickly apply those trends to our most popular Chevrolet models,” said Brian Sweeny, U.S. Chevrolet Vice President.

As announced at the Chicago Auto Show, the Chevrolet Cruze, Malibu, Trax, Equinox, Traverse, Colorado, and Silverado are all getting the Redline treatment. But we’re going to talk about the most important car included in the bunch– the Camaro.

The Redline Camaro will be available for both the coupe or convertible and the LT or SS trim levels. Just like the concept car, the Redline edition Camaro will be boasting quite a striking color combination. Available exterior colors include Summit White, Silver Ice Metallic, and Black. Every exterior paint option is brought to an extremely stealthy look thanks to the upgraded black wheels, badges, side mirrors, and grilles. Subtle yet dramatic red accents can also be found throughout the car’s exterior, alongside our favorite finishing touch: hash marks on the front fenders.

The interior has a few little upgrades, the most noticeable being the new carpets with red stitching– a modern sports car staple, in our opinion. Unfortunately (but not surprisingly), the motor is left untouched. With a name like “Redline” you would think we would see some sort of performance upgrade, but that definitely doesn’t mean that, one day, this won’t be a rare collector’s car.

The Redline Camaro will be available to the public in April 2017.
