We were doing the usual Craigslist scrape, just checking out the local cars for sale, looking for some good deals, and we came across this Lucra LC470 (which is kind of rare in and of itself). Turns out, the car was actually featured in Fast & Furious 6. Pretty cool.
If you haven’t heard of Lucras, well, they are actually “replicas” of the expensive Lister Jaguar. They have an extremely rigid body and, as per the creator, they are the perfect combination of the weight and distribution of a Lotus with the power and drivability of a Corvette. Straight from the factory, they come fitted with a 6.2-liter LS3, but there’s an option for a 7.0-liter LS7, as well.
This specific Lucra was painted with a unique yellow and green two-tone, and while it was featured in the Fast & Furious, it wasn’t much more than just a set piece. But, with a 0 to 60 of less than 3 seconds, it definitely could have been running with the big dogs if the directors wanted it to.
The gentleman that posted in on Craigslist, Howard, bought it directly from Lucra in San Marcos, CA after its use in the movie in 2014, whom sadly also removed the original engine and transmission. He brought it back to life with a new Tremec TKO 5-speed trans, a McLeod twin disc, and a brand spankin’ new LS3 engine. It’s now pushing 475 horsepower with a top speed of 180 mph. He wasn’t a fan of the original paint colors and the front end didn’t match the rest of the car at the time of the purchase, so he went over the British Racing Green and yellow with a fresh coat of black paint, but don’t worry– he has supplied us with before and after photos.
Howard claims he loves the car and, if he were to keep it, he would add an orginal-looking racing stripe of a different color. “I’ve owned many cars, but after about two years of owning this, I’m just ready for something new and different,” said Howard.
With the sale, he’s including the original wheels, tires, and front end from the movie and is currently accepting offers (and trades!).
