Forgeline Double Feature – Commodore and Camaro

Let’s face it; Forgeline [2] makes some of the sickest looking wheels on the market, and there’s no denying their continually growing popularity. We’ve even installed their wheels on Swinger [3], and our G8 [4] and C6 [5] project cars. Frankly, we dig their work and their wheels add style to just about any car imaginable.

With an LS7 under the hood, we don’t think that this Commodore has much trouble living down it’s ‘family sedan’ stereotype.

Having said that, we like to keep an eye on their Facebook page [7] for some of the sweetest-looking rides out there, so we can share them with you here. We just ran across a pair of sexy LS-powered rides, and naturally, we had to let you have a look.

The first car featured is not a Pontiac G8, but rather, a Holden Commodore HSV E3  that was built by the good folks of Harrop Engineering [8] in Australia. Under the hood of the Aussie sedan is an LS7 topped with a FDFI HTV 2300 supercharger that we’re pretty sure will outrun any kangaroo, not to mention an Australian Ford Falcon.

Balancing out the power upgrade is a Harrop big brake kit, short shifter, Trutrac differential, and performance oil cooler. Last but not least is killer set of Forgeline GA1R wheels in satin black. We think the overall package looks fantastic, and would make the perfect family car that can double as the weekend warrior.

Looking to our own shores for LS muscle is this 2010 “L28” Camaro SS that’s been built and prepped by Lingenfelter Performance Engineering [11]. It made it’s first appearance at the 4th Annual Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational [12], and it delighted fans and participants alike. With an LPE-built 427 CI LS7 under the hood (like the Commodore), it puts out a reported 681 horsepower and 588 pound-feet of torque.

It also features an LPE body kit, Brembo [14] 6-piston calipers and cross-drilled, two-piece, 15-inch rotors, and Forgeline GA3 wheels measuring out at 20×10.5-inch all the way around. Underneath, you’ll find an LPE/Pedders [15] SportsRyder Supercar coil-over system. It’s one quick, handling machine, and with all of the goodies that LPE attached to it, especially the Forgeline rollers, this Camaro stands out from the pack!
