It’s no secret that Vice President Joe Biden is a die-hard Corvette fan. If you didn’t already know, he actually owns a 1967 Stingray that he has driven only three times in the past seven years– one of those times being on Jay Leno’s Garage on YouTube. [2]
Sadly, the Secret Service prohibits the president and vice president from driving while in office. So now that his presidency is coming to an end, Biden is excitedly searching for his next ride. After not being able to drive for years on end, we would be too!
Biden just recently took a tour around the Detroit Auto Show and, according to attendees, took multiple stops at exhibits housing high-performance American sports cars. He chatted with Tadge Juechter, Corvette chief engineer, and ended up giving him his card in hopes of a future chat. It seems he has made the decision on his next vehicle. But the real question he has is… Grand Sport or Z06?

Tadge told Road & Track [4] that Biden was specifically interested in the Z06, claiming it was “really sweet.” Tadge said, “He pulled me out of the crowd three times as he was walking around. He’s a little worried that [the Z06] might be over the top for him, but he’s definitely interested in trying. Once he gets out and he’s allowed to drive on his own, he’s psyched to get a new one.”
