LS Swap Insanity: This BMW M3 Crosses More Than One Boundary

Poland is known for many things, but a girl with a BMW drift car normally isn’t one of them. Heck, a BMW M3 with LS power is pretty unnatural, and that’s why we’re here to share this story with you today. Karolina Pilarczyk is such a female who grew up playing with dolls as a child, but as she got older, eventually evolved into “boy sports,” like martial arts and ultimately, cars.

Pilarczyk's Bimmer started out as a secondhand relic, but her and her crew took the time to transform it into what you see elsewhere in this article.

Before we can get into the specs of her car, we should probably share the long, bumpy road of achieving the fame and prominence for Poland’s sole female drifter. Initially confused by the idea of driftting, it wasn’t long before she picked up a BMW 328i and started doing it herself. Realizing the E28 was a little light on power, she stepped up into a E36 M3.

Pilarczyk was initially impressed with the new performance of the trusty inline-6, but it wasn’t long before the idea of performing an LS swap would become a reality. First up was a 5.7L LS1, the original, and she was hooked. The sound, the power, and the instant throttle response of the all-alloy American V8 gave her a taste of just how incredible the platform could be.

So if big was was good, then biggest should be best, right? Well those thoughts were what most of us would think, but Pilarczyk’s attempt at LS7 power was a short-lived one, as it met with an untimely death. Third time’s the charm? You bet. The current LS engine would be the immensely popular 6.2L LS3.

With more than 450 HP on tap underneath her right foot, the Bimmer has become something of a mainstay in Poland’s rapidly growing drift scene. Some of the finer details about this drift machine include a Viper-spec gearbox, an E46 rear differential, KW Suspension components, Sparco steering wheel, seats, and fire extinguishing system.

Helping her rip through the corners are factory BMW 17-inch wheels, and a D2 hydraulic hand brake. The finishing touches include a roll cage and an aftermarket body kit. The M3 is topped off with a very girly pink hue.

Future plans call for a bump in horsepower, to bring the total output up to 600. As Pilarczyk puts it, “I think the LS engine is the most incredible engine, with great performance and [a] beautiful sound.” We couldn’t agree more. You can follow her progress on her Facebook page, by clicking here.
