Matte Bronze Forgelines Liven Up Built D&Z Customs Pro-Touring ‘Maro

[1]

No matter what kind of vehicle you drive, the type of wheels you have are important. Not only do they get you around town, down the track or through an autocross course, they also make a statement about you and your vehicle. That’s why Forgeline [2] offers such a variety of their race-inspired wheels. Strong and sturdy are important when it comes to the demands of the track, but so is style and Forgeline wheels offer the best of all worlds.

[3] Recently, Forgeline teased some really cool Matte Bronze CF3C center lock wheels on Facebook [4] and we were instantly impressed. What’s even more impressive is where these unique wheels ended up- under a fully built pro-touring Camaro built by D&Z Customs [5]. With an Orange paint scheme, build from bumper to bumper, and Matte Bronze Forgelines, you can’t get a better combination in a second-gen Camaro.

The ‘70 Camaro, dubbed “Re-Peeled” after D&Z Customs owner Randy Johnson sold the car in 2001 and then bought it back six years later in 2007, is the ultimate pro-touring machine.

The Camaro gets its power from a 6.0L LS2 engine stroked to a 403ci. powerhouse complete with a Magnuson [6] supercharger matted to a Tremec [7] T56 six-speed transmission with SPEC [8] Twin Disc clutch. The car also features a Heidts independent rear end with 3.70 gears.

Just like any good pro-touring car, the Camaro has a full suspension setup. In the front, the car runs a Heidts [11] ProG clip with tubular control arms, Mustang II rack-and-pinion system, Heidts 2-inch drop spindles, and a Torque Tough swaybar from Speedway Engineering [12]. QA1 [13] Proma Star Double Adjustable shocks are used on both the front and rear of the car while stopping power comes from a Baer Brakes/ Wilwood Engineering combination with Baer [14] 6-piston calipers in the front and Wilwood [15] Dynamite 4-piston calipers in the rear. You know there’s a job to be done when over $13k is spent just on the suspension setup.

[16] After the car’s transformation, it made use of Forgeline FS3P [17] wheels, but now sports the Matte Bronze Center CF3C [18] variety. These wheels feature a strong 5-spoke design with a brushed outer rim and a center lock conversion. Just like many other Forgeline wheels, the CF3Cs are crafted from forged 6061-T6 aluminum with heat-treated rim-shells. The ones on Re-Peeled pop even more with custom Forgeline engraving on the spoke.

The concave design of the Matte Bronze Center CF3C wheels gives the D&Z Customs Camaro a unique and awe-worthy look, and we can’t wait to see the awesome combination tearing up autocross courses this season.
