If you are planning on racing in the the upcoming LSXTruck Shootout at San Antonio Raceway, you may want to keep your eyes open for a plain looking, silver-grey 1994 Chevy Silverado pick-up that may take you by surprise!
From the looks of this YouTube video from SkullCrusherAdventures, this particular entry is going to give would be competitors lots to think about! “Farmtruc” is the handle given to this mid-90s Chevy work truck.
“Farmtruc” is creation of the horsepower producing wizards at Nelson Performance of San Antonio, Texas. From the information gleaned from their website, the project has been around for a while and undergone a few different combinations.
This pressurized little pick up has banged out quarter mile times of 11.9 seconds at 110 mph in the past with other induction setups which is very respectable in it’s own right.
However this video clearly shows that the speedy Silverado’s revamped power plant and additional turbocharger have taken the pickup’s performance a quantum leap beyond that level. Yielding a quarter-mile time of 10.35 seconds even after a sloppy launch and an early shut off proves that you have a strip rocket capable of some fabulous runs once the combination is dialed in.
The Nelson Performance website features “Farmtruc” along with several other great projects that they have produced for themselves and their customers. You can check them out on the Nelson Performance Projects page.
Farmtruc’s posted performance numbers and specs don’t reflect the addition of the second “hair dryer” or other recent upgrades. So you might expect that revised horsepower and performance numbers will be available there once Farmtruc’s performance has been sorted out.
That being said, it is possible that the Nelson Performance team might want to keep Farmtruc’s actual performance a secret until the upcoming Truck Shootout is done.
After all, there is no sense in tipping off the competition to the fact that you’ve got their performance covered and then some!
