Vehicles that originate in the United States, of course, are left-hand drive, but have you ever thought about people from other countries that need that right-hand drive option? Yeah, didn’t think so. Neither had we– but someone else obviously did.
Clive Sutton, one of the largest performance and luxury car dealers in London known for their American imports, recently announced the availability of right-hand drive conversion kits for 17 different models including the beloved Chevrolet Camaro and Corvette. An original RHD conversion company in the UK, Sutton Bespoke, recently teamed up with an Australian company to offer some of these newer models.
RHD conversion kits are currently offered for the Dodge Ram 1500 and 2500 pick-up trucks, Ford F150/F250, Ford Raptor, GMC Sierra, Chevrolet Silverado, Dodge Challenger, Chevrolet Camaro, Ford Mustang, Shelby Gt500, Cadillac Escalade, and Chevrolet Corvette.
The majority of each kit is made from hand-made and hand-sculpted parts with some 3D printing involved– ensuring a factory-like fit and finish every time. They are available for domestic and international customers (at a price).
The RHD conversion for 2010-2015 Camaro starts at $42k. Sutton is still working on producing a kit for the latest some of the latest models. The Chevrolet Corvette is currently only available for purchase at one dealership in all of the United Kingdom, so this is great news for them, but the conversion requires removal of the entire body of the car, driving its price up to a whopping $70,000.
