The mid-engine Corvette has been rumored for decades and, now, we are closer than ever to getting the real thing. Some are elated, some… not so much. But, either way, it’s happening sooner than later and all the little details are slowly falling into place.

Corvette Forum has taken the latest spy shots to, yet again, compile the details we’ve seen and deliver some pretty amazing renderings.

Spy shots taken over the last couple of months.

In addition to the badass tail lights, for the rear, they took a pretty basic bumper and trunk design from the snow-filled spy shots we saw back in January. The vents used in the render’s front bumper can also be seen in multiple of the spy photos taken over the last couple months. For the headlights, the artist took stylistic cues from the current Corvette and from the old Daytona prototypes. Our favorite part about the front-end, though: the shape. Its just exotic-looking; almost resembling a Pagani.

But, Corvette Forums’ artist had to get a little creative when it came to designing the profile. They claim the oversized scoops on the sides of the vehicle in the spy shots seem somewhat unfit for a production version, so, in addition to creating a more refined scoop, they also removed the roof panel, giving them the ability to take on a more aggressive roof line.

This is the closest we have been yet to seeing Chevy’s new mid-engine “supercar” and, after all these rumors and spy shots, if it turns out looking like this, we will not be disappointed. What do you like and what would you change?
