There is no denying it, the new Chevrolet Z06 represents the absolute best in Chevrolet performance. And with a wildly affordable price tag, you simply can’t beat it. However, if you want to take your new Z06 to the next unprecedented level, then you need to add the Z07 package. The Z07 package adds an additional $7,995 to your total bill, but what you receive is flat out staggering.

Chevrolet is quick to point out how the Z07 package adds various aero benefits including larger winglets to the front splitter, and an adjustable, see-through center section on the rear spoiler for track use. Adding this package to your new Z06, and you’ll be driving a Vette that Chevrolet claims has the most aerodynamic downforce of any production car that GM has tested.

But what gets put on the back-burner many times is the carbon ceramic Brembo brakes that the Z07 package adds. As you can tell from the above video, the ceramic brakes make the Z06 a dangerous foe on any track or autocross course. The 15”+ carbon ceramic brake rotors not only can stop on a dime, but maybe just as importantly save 23 pounds versus the stock Z06 rotors.

According to the video, stopping the ceramic rotors are six-piston monobloc calipers that have feature cross-drilled radiators for improved pad and brake fluid cooling. All of this results in a 60-0 distance of only 99.6ft! That’s some serious stopping power!
