They say Karma’s a bitch—or should that be carma? Either way, we’re sure that at one point or another you’ve had someone fly past you in an irreverent manner after which you likely thought to yourself “I hope that person crashes.” While that’s not the fuzziest of sentiments, we’ve all been there at one point or another.
But it’s rare for karma to pay its dues right in front of our eyes—especially in such an entertaining way. Luckily for Mike Mathews, that’s exactly what happened. As you can clearly see in the video, Mike was cautiously pulling his vehicle into traffic when a fifth-gen Camaro apparently comes out of nowhere at a high rate of speed and practically buzzes the nose of the car Mathews is piloting.
Apparently this isn’t the first time Mike has run into trouble, and we’re thankful for that as both of his dash cams were rolling when this delightful piece of karmic retribution played out. Even more so, we are thankful for the awesome sound track and captions that were edited into the video—they really add a lot to what is already an entertaining tragedy.

In our experience, most Camaro drivers are pretty chill. But there is always a douche or two waiting in the wings to spoil the bunch. Naturally, we like to assume that this fifth-gen Camaro is a V6. Not that their is anything wrong with that, but there is just something deliciously douchey about a guy driving his V6 Camaro as if he were Steve McQueen in Bullet—only with substantially less talent.
As any regular driver would do, Mathews seems to shrug off the encounter and continue along his way, only to get quickly slowed by the Camaro who has now been forced to go the speed limit by the cars in front of him. Apparently the Camaro owner takes this as tailgating and proceeds to stab the brakes three times in a row in an apparent brake checking maneuver.
You’ve probably seen enough Facebook and YouTube videos lately to know that brake checking rarely ends well, and this case is no different. However, it is surprising that the brake checking isn’t the cause of what would eventually be the hilarious demise of an innocent fifth-gen.
After brake checking Mathews, the Camaro speeds up, flying at another vehicle exiting a parking lot. Apparently the owner is infuriated by anyone who has the gaul to pull out of a parking lot for any reason. He then pulls an unnecessarily abrupt lane change—as if he’s angry at the Eclipse in front of him as well—to make a left hand turn at a stop light.

At this point, it’s obvious that the dude behind the wheel of this fifth-gen can’t drive. Naturally, the owner decides to punch it from a stop light—you know, because that will show the guy behind him—and almost instantly loses control of the car. The rear end gets away from him and he over corrects in the worst way, putting him on a collision course with a phone pole.
Luckily for us, the grounding wire pulls the front end off the ground before the idiot driver can wrap the front end of the Camaro around the pole, leaving the Camaro in a pretty funny predicament. Funnier still is that the driver puts the car in reverse and several times tries to back the car out of its “pole position” (we had to). Turns out, cars won’t back up without the tires on the ground, who knew?
We just wish Mathews would have kept the camera in view as we watched the driver awkwardly try to exit the vehicle. Turns out Camaro drivers can go from rage to shame real quick. At least Mustang owners will have this video to fall back on the next time one takes out a crowd—and that’s the real bright spot here.
