On the opposite side of the camera from our friend ScottieD we see a hard-to-find Toyota Stout pickup. In stock form they’re not the greatest on power or cabin space, but the style is unique and with V8 power it makes any other drawback fade completely away.

Few people have seen a Toyota Stout in the US, this truck was here for just a few years in the early to mid-1960s, and typically when you find one it’s either rotting away, or someone has spent lots of time and money restoring it. Then there’s the V8 swap Stout-crowd, which makes this a pretty badass little truck.

Visiting the NSRA Street Rod Nationals last year, Scottie happened across this rough looking little white pickup laying frame and noticed the Corvette engine covers. He just had to slide on in for a closer look. It is a bit rough on the outside, and get a load of that tiny cabin. It wouldn’t take long for the AC to cool it down on a hot summer day – yes, this truck is cooled by the factory LS AC from what we can see.

The owner did something we haven’t seen before when he swapped in the LS, and it looks to be a pretty good fit. Chances are if you’ve seen a Toyota Stout, it might have had an SBC swap performed, as finding parts for the original four-banger is going to pose a bit of a problem.

We’re not sure what the transmission is, or what the plans are for the truck, but for now this tiny, beat up Stout has our attention, too. What are your thoughts on the stance, though?
