Do you remember when you first learned to drive a manual car? The fear of using three pedals can be daunting at first, especially if you learned to drive one when you were just learning to drive period. Most of us probably were taught on something like an old pickup truck, a rental car (our personal favorite), or if you were lucky, a musclecar of some sort. However, we’d be more than willing to bet that it wasn’t a 900 horsepower Corvette.

Now imagine that you have never driven a stick in your life and the person that wants to show you how has a 900 horsepower, ProCharged, C7 Corvette that they want you to learn in. Well, now you know what Cleetus McFarland‘s girlfriend felt like when he decided he would teacher her the finer points of three pedals in his amped up ‘Vette.

In case you aren’t familiar with Cleetus, he works for 1320 Video and has over 60,000 subscribers and 5,000,000 views to date. You could say he is somewhat of a rising YouTuber. The majority of his uploads usually have to do with his 900 horsepower Procharged C7 Chevrolet Corvette. Cleetus is full on ‘Merica and his catch phrase is “do it for Dale”–a reference to Dale Earnhardt. So if you’re into fast cars, burnouts, and boost, his channel might be of interest to you.

A few days ago, he released a video teaching his girlfriend, Kayla, to drive manual in his ‘Vette. After a year of riding around in it and never getting behind the wheel, she wanted to give it a shot. While we were leery to watch the video, with a couple pillows to boost her up, she actually did pretty well.

Of course she kills the car, but she does a good job of not burning up the clutch holding it for too long on her more successful tries. We’d love to see how she would do on an incline start, which we all know is one of the most important thing to master when it comes to rowing your own gears–except maybe heel-toe downshifting.
