As you probably already know, the Mustang and Camaro are somewhat similar (both being all-american muscle cars with V8s) but their rivalry is still an extremely controversial topic within the car community.
Micheal Austin, Editor-in-Chief of Autoblog, and Greg Migliore tested both vehicles, and claim to have finally settled this dispute.
Micheal drove the 5.0-liter 2016 Ford Mustang GT, while Greg spent most of his time testing out the 6.2-liter 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS. Here’s what they thought…
Micheal and Greg noted the exquisite detail that went into the frame, chassis, and brakes of both vehicles and, overall, preferred the performance that came from the Camaro’s whopping 455 horsepower. It seemed the Mustang just wasn’t quite as “solid” as it’s competitor. The pricing, power output, and fuel economy are all extremely comparable.
Micheal said the two vehicles were so similar that the only thing that made him like one more than the other was the looks, but Greg had a much different opinion.
After two days at Willow, these two from Autoblog came to the conclusion that, overall, the mustang is the better daily driver with every other category being hotly contested. “With the little bit the Mustang lagged behind at the track, it made up for off of it,” said Micheal. “It might just be the best Mustang ever.”
So that’s the verdict. If you happen to be in the market for more of a sporty “track” car, go for the Camaro. If you’re looking for a well-rounded daily, these two think you should go for the Mustang.
