The Chevy Corvette has been America’s flagship sportscar for almost 60 years now., and just recently GM introduced the most ass-kickingest version ever, the 638 horsepower ZR1. With a supercharged engine, carbon fiber body, and a sticker price of around $110,000, it is one of the best performance bargains ever. And with just a little massaging, engine tuners can get even more power out of this beastly ‘Vette. High Tech Corvette has this video of Late Model Racecraft’s uber-fast Corvette ZR1, which already holds 236 MPH bragging rights at the Texas Mile.
Now add to it a 9.68 second quarter mile run at 147 MPH. As far as we know, that makes this particular twin-turbo, 1,500 horsepower Corvette ZR1 the fastest ZR1 in the world. Oh, and did we mention that it is completely street legal. Yeah, how about them apples?
We’re sure there is somebody out there who may dispute the “fastest” ZR1 claim. You know what we have to say to them? YouTube it, or it didn’t happen. That’s about how it works these days anyways, and if you can afford the Corvette, you can afford the camcorder.
