Seems like GM is determined to make the famed Nürburgring Nordschleife their bitch – The CTS-V, the ZR1, and now the upcoming Camaro Z/28 have all taken a turn on the world’s fastest toll road, which has become the current litmus test for performance car bragging rights.
Thanks to our pals at Camaro5.com, we have this latest round of photos of the Z/28 taking laps of the 13-mile German road course, missing the floppy fabric camo present in the previous batch of US pics, but still wrapped in “Magic Eye”-style checkerboard vinyl. The hood doesn’t appear to be a production piece – note the six-pack of speed holes – but we do get a look at what will probably end up as the production Z/28 trunklid spoiler.
Sharp-eyed Camaro5 members have also pointed out interesting details like the rollcage and racing seat (possibly mandated as a part of the private weekday test session for liability reasons), sunroof, and “2010” sign in the rear side window. We’ll keep an eye out for any updates on lap times or videos; since the Nürburgring is a very long, nominally public stretch of road, we’re sure that SOMEBODY got a camcorder on it…
