The 2014 CTS. Images: Autoblog

We can never get enough prototype testing spy photos. Like crackheads looking to get their next fix, we made a mad dash to our Macs to open the latest Autoblog link featuring pictures of our favorite midsize luxury car; the Cadillac CTS. In this case, a disguised 2014 example.

As usual, said prototypes were covered in zebra-masking in an attempt to throw anyone off trying to sneak a peek at the latest CTS. But we’re smarter than that. Eagle-eye viewers can see that the next generation CTS will continue on with its long-running “Art & Science” theme.

You can clearly make out the way the rear side windows are shaped in the upcoming model...

Sharp, edgy styling along with Cadillac’s trademarked, bold, egg-crate style grille carry over from its current iteration. Despite the blacked out wheels, we can get a clear idea of what the rolling stock will look like on the next generation car as well.

The two cars photographed by Autoblog journalist, Steven J. Ewing, are depicted here arriving at Germany’s famed Nurburgring. Since we’re going to assume that these were the Euro-spec editions, you can clearly see that these examples have the clear-lensed LED taillights, a staple in Cadillacs sold across the pond.

It’s been said that there will be two turbocharged V6’s (3.0L & 3.6L, respectively) offered for the next body style, which will grow in size to put more of a gap between it and the ATS. And more to the point, the CTS-V will return again, once again with V8 power.
