When the LS engine first hit the scene, it was revolutionary and aftermarket support for the mill sprung up seemingly overnight. But if you thought that was fast, wait until you hear what Texas Speed & Performance is already offering for the Gen V engines; spoiler alert: it’s strokers.
“We offer a complete line of Gen V stroker motors,” said Jason Magnum of Texas Speed & Performance. “Our line of Gen V parts is quickly growing to rival all of our LS offerings—much faster than even when the LS stuff really started blowing up. We are already sleeving LT engines for larger displacements and we have been developing a ton of new LT engine parts.”
The standard LT block offered by Texas Speed is available in bore sizes up to 4.125 inches, and can be punched out even larger (up to a 4.175-inch bore) with the addition of Darton sleeves—much like the newly introduced Gen V blocks we recently reported on.
They are available in your choice of wet- or dry-sump setups and include ARP main studs. In their long block configuration, the mill features Precision Race Components CNC ported heads, your choice of camshaft, and active fuel management delete. The engine is also available with an optional ARP stud kit for the top end.
“As popular as the LS strokers have been, we think the popularity of these LT builds will be even more so,” Mangum said. “With all the new technology, like direct injection, that people are wanting to get their hands on, it will only be a matter of time before you start seeing more and more of these popping up.”
The stock block allows for strokes of up to 4.125 inches, pushing these strokers well into 427-cubic-inch territory and beyond—although Mangum tells us that 427 cubic inches is a popular choice for many of the builds.
Whether you find this news unsettling or a stroke of luck is up to you, but one thing is for sure: when you’re ready to step up to bigger cubes with your LT, Texas Speed has got what you need.
