PRI 2024: XClutch LS to T56 Magnum Twin Ceramic Clutch Kit

XCLUTCH 6 Bolt LS/T56 Twin Ceramic Clutch Kit

LS swaps are super-hot right now and XClutch USA has introduced a nine-inch, twin-disc ceramic clutch kit tailored specifically for LS engines paired with T56 Magnum transmissions. Showcased at PRI 2024, this kit caters to high-performance enthusiasts, offering a versatile and durable solution for applications ranging from drifting to time attack racing.

“This kit is designed for the 6-bolt LS application using a T56 Magnum transmission,” says Steve Kamensky, Sales Manager at XClutch USA. “This is a motorsport-oriented clutch kit, and we specifically aim it at the drifting and time attack guys that are a little bit more abusive on the clutch and need a clutch able to handle higher horsepower.”

The nine-inch, twin solid ceramic disc design offers exceptional torque handling, rated at 1,340 lb-ft. This makes it a go-to option for motorsport applications like drifting, drag racing, and road course builds. Despite its high-performance pedigree, the kit ensures light pedal pressure, maintaining a near-OE feel for street use.

At the heart of the kit is a lightweight, chromoly steel one-piece flywheel, ensuring durability without compromising performance. The package includes everything needed for installation, eliminating the guesswork:

  • Hydraulic release bearing with spacer
  • Flywheel bolts and pressure plate bolts
  • Billet steel alignment tool
  • Hydraulic feed and bleed lines

“There’s no measuring bearing gap, no guesswork. It takes all that out for the installer,” Kamensky explains.

The design addresses the differences in bearing spacing between the T56 Magnum and GM’s OE-equipped T56 or TR6060 transmissions, making it a direct-fit solution.

XClutch developed this kit in response to demand from builders transitioning from TR6060 transmissions to T56 Magnums for LS engines. “This is one that we saw a lot of people inquiring about,” Kamensky adds. “Maybe they have an LS and they’ve gone away from a TR6060 and went to a T56 Magnum. The spacing’s a little bit different, so we aimed this kit specifically at that application.”

With its robust construction, high torque capacity, and ease of installation, this twin ceramic disc clutch kit is a must-have for performance builders. Whether you’re running a high-powered drift car or retrofitting a Camaro or Corvette, XClutch delivers a clutch that’s built to perform under extreme conditions.
