Let’s face it, the overall look of the LS engine is not a thing of beauty. Sure, it has aluminum heads and a decent accessory drive, but from an aesthetic standpoint, it’s not very appealing. In a newer vehicle, it does look at home due to the plastic covers and all of the other plastic components under the hood. But when you slap that new engine in a classic cruiser or hot rod, it just doesn’t look the part. It completely misses the boat on the traditional style of the vintage appeal.

One of the current trends in the industry is to take an LS engine and make it look like anything but a modern engine. At SEMA this year, we saw a range of disguised LS’s in the form of Fords, Nailheads, Chevrolet big-blocks, and of course, the ever popular small-block Chevrolet.

Moroso just released a new valve cover adapter that allows you to put any small-block Chevrolet valve cover onto the LS platform; gone are the days of having to run the factory cast covers with the coils bolted on top. Now you can keep that vintage feel and choose from hundreds of styles all the way back to the 1950’s if you want.

The billet adapter is designed to fit the center-bolt LS heads and has a machined O-ring groove and O-ring for the perfect seal. Installation is a breeze, as well: remove the factory covers and replace with this adapter. You will then bolt on your new or vintage small-block valve covers in place. You will need to relocate those ugly coils and brackets, but this is a much-needed facelift for your engine compartment as well.
