Having a nine-second race car is common these days, but having one with more than just a seat, steering wheel, peddles and shifter is rare, let alone that car being a legit street car.
Very few cars that see heavy street duty can put down the big power to dip into the single digits, let along do it with leather interior. The Cadillac CTS-V was designed to go after high-end euro cars, but with some good old hot rodding tricks you get something like the Vengeance Racing-built CTS-V that busts into the 9’s without breaking a sweat.
From the factory, a CTS-V is meant to be a country club cruiser with enough power on tap to get some attention around town. You can pick up the new generation CTS-V as a coupe or wagon and they come with a 6.2 liter LSA engine that already has a factory blower on it. If you check the right option boxes a Tremec TR6060 can be also equipped in the powerful luxury car for you to row your own gears.
Getting a 4,000 pound car into the 9’s is no easy task, but when you’re putting down 946 horsepower and 904 ft/lbs. of torque to the wheels it gets much easier. The Vengeance Racing-built Cadillac is using the stock LSA internals and block that have been topped with a set of Trick Flow racing heads, aftermarket cam, ported stock blower, and bigger pulleys to get more boost. To help build the power the car guzzles some race gas and huffs a 130-horse shot of giggle juice. The best time to date for the CTS-V has been a 9.59 at 143 MP{H blasting off with a 1.48 sixty-foot, and that’s good enough to be the quickest and fastest stock bottom end CTS-V in all the land.
Who says you can’t go fast and have all the comforts of a stock car while doing it?
