Coming off of this year’s Corvette Funfest, held by Mid America Motorworks on their massive Effingham, Illinois campus, it takes a while to digest everything we saw and did over the weekend. One highlight, for certain, was the Install Dome, where attendees could get their newly purchased exhaust systems, intakes, wheels and tires, brakes, and interiors installed on the spot at a discounted price.

One of the really cool things about the Install Dome is that would-be parts buyers get a chance to see (and hear) what the hardware is all about on other cars before making the leap themselves. Each Corvette that came off the lifts with the eager bark of a new set of pipes was another temptation, and it proved hard for a lot of people to resist. The crews working the lifts and install bays were busy all weekend long, and in this video we get to see hours of labor making Corvette owners happy (or happier) condensed into just a couple of minutes.

The byproduct of dozens of exhaust installs... The scrapped parts are sold to benefit charity, so like the noble Buffalo, nothing goes to waste.

If you haven’t been to the Funfest, mark your calendars for next year – it will be the 20th anniversary of the event, so set aside September 19-22, 2013!
