On March 22nd, 2023, GM announced that it would cease production of the Camaro and the 2024 model year would be the last. A move that sadly didn’t shock most as Camaro sales had been declining and the company was shifting focus to EVs. On December 14th, 2023, the last Chevrolet Camaro rolled off the production line at the GM Lansing plant in Michigan, but some 2023 and 2024 models are still available on dealership lots. Out of about 100 remaining new Camaros, there are just a handful of V8 models and two manual transmission models still waiting for new owners. And according to Chevrolet, only one manual transmission ZL1 Camaro remains.

There are two ZL1s in total left, one 10-speed automatic and the other a 6-speed manual. The last manual transmission ZL1 is located at a dealership in Idaho. This particular ZL1 is the final-year Collector’s Edition, limited to 350 units, and features a Panther Black Matte exterior color – the first matte paint offered on Camaro from the factory. This package also features the front splitter and the rear wing from ZL1 1LE finished in carbon fiber, a black metallic ZL1 stripe, red brake calipers, and black wheels to complete the exterior look. On the inside, all 350 Collector’s Edition ZL1 vehicles received a serialized steering wheel badge representing where that vehicle was built in sequence.
The 6th generation Camaro is the last and final generation offered by Chevrolet and the ZL1 package is the top dog. Equipped with a 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque supercharged LT4 from the C7 Z06 Corvette, the Zl1 Camaro was not only quick with a zero-to-sixty time of 3.5 seconds but also capable of sub 7:30 lap times at the Nurburgring in Germany. GM may not want to invest in a 7th generation, but at least the final Camaro generation ends on a high note.
There is a good chance this dealership, or its owner, doesn’t want to let this special Camaro go just yet. But one thing is for sure, only one manual transmission ZL1 Camaro remains before fading into automotive performance history, and whoever ends up buying it will have a very special Camaro for the history books.
