1320 Video’s Top Ten Weirdest LS Swaps Of LS Fest East 2019

The 2019 Holley LS Fest show was the largest to date. At its peak, it had over 15,000 people and thousands of cars which provided for an insane experience. In case you couldn’t make it or didn’t get a chance to see everything, 1320 put a video together of their top ten weirdest LS swaps of the show.

One Wild Beamer

This insane LS-swapped BMW was ripping around in the drift competition when a wheel broke a wheel off, and barely missed the wall. This monster is powered by an LS which has twin 76mm turbos, which produce 1350 horsepower.

Turbo LS Miata

Sure we have seen LS-swapped Miatas before, but this 2008 is powered by a 6.2 liter with a set of PRC heads and a 78mm comp oil-less turbo and makes around 1000 horsepower. The combo pushes the little Miata to a blistering  5-second 1/8 mile.

Widebody FD RX7

This wicked widebody RX7 has a 388 cubic-inch LS with Brodix BR3 heads and a Dart block, fully built TH400 transmission, and an 8.8 solid axle rear end. The BorgWarner 491 turbo produces 28psi on alcohol and puts down over 1400 horsepower to the tire.

1963 Corvair Van

Corvairs were never known for power or handling. This 1963 Corvair van changes the rules with an ’87 Corvette chassis and an LS out of a ’02 Corvette. The engine is mounted right in the middle of the van combined with a 4l60e transmission, which makes for one sweet ride.

LS Jeep Liberty

The LS-swapped Jeep Liberty was one of the cleanest swaps at LS Fest. The stock LS ECU communicates with all of the factory Jeep electronics. The owner made a data bus conversion module, allowing the factory gauge cluster to work with the LS computer. Despite Having an all-stock 6.0-liter, the little Jeep finished the 1/4-mile in 15 seconds.

The Worlds Most Reliable Subie

This LS-powered WRX has a 6.0 block with a set of 6.2 heads and nitrous. The owner scrapped the factory transmission in favor of a Turbo 400. The LS-swapped WRX was an all-around super clean, and an excellent LS install.

The Twin-Engine Impala

With sixteen cylinders of mayhem, this insane twin-engine Impala has a turbo LS in the front and a turbo LS in the back that makes about 1000hp. The twin-engine monstrosity ran an Impressive 10.74 at 137mph in the 1/4-mile.

Straight Out Of The 80’s Van

The 1978 G20 is not your grandpapas van. The all-aluminum 5.3-liter engine that powers the 1978 G20 is out of a 2007 Avalanche. The 5.3 was freshened up, and then the guys decided to add a turbocharger. The unit only makes four pounds of boost but is enough to propel this ’80s time capsule to a 13.09 1/4-mile time. For the rear end, a stock GM 12-bolt was used with welded spyder gears for “two tire fryer.”

LS Postal Van

This vehicle needs little to no introduction because the odds are you have seen it somewhere on the internet. Ever since LS Fest, the LS swapped mail truck has blown up the internet. The Postal Van has a 6.0-Liter with a 4l80e transmission out of a 2008 chevy 2500 with a Brian Tooley Racing Stage 3 cam. The 4l80 has a Circle-D Specialties single disk billet converter.
