Holley Announces Winner Of Supercharged LS Engine Sweepstakes

A few months ago, Holley announced the 2020 LS Engine Sweepstakes, where they planned to give away an LS engine to one lucky contestant. But, this wasn’t your ordinary LS crate engine. Instead, this was a dual supercharged 427 cubic-inch monster worth $23,364.44 in value and makes 1,057 horsepower. All you had to do for a chance to win was register. And while this task sounds easy enough, we’re positive that some of you reading this article didn’t take the time to enter, and you should have. If you did, then you might have received the phone call from Holley congratulating you.
Since you didn’t receive the phone call from Bill Tichenor, Director of Marketing for Holley, we will tell you who did. Jonathon West, of Highlands Ranch Colorado, is the recipient of this amazing prize. On July 7, Tichenor reached out to West let him know of his good fortune. West said, “With all the telemarketers now, I thought it was just one of those guys when the phone rang. I was so excited. I’m going to put this in my Camaro, of course, I’ll probably have to cage it now!”
Currently, West has a 1969 Camaro that houses a Big Block Chevy engine. His plan now is to remove the vintage powerplant and replace it with the supercharged LS and will hit his local dragstrip, Bandimere Speedway with the new combination.
“It’s always great to see someone win one of our engines who intends to use it,” said Tichenor. “This engine is amazing, and it’s going to help Jonathon get his F-body down the strip like never before!”
The 427 LS engine was built by Prestige Motorsports in Concord, North Carolina, utilizing a Dart SHP LS Next Pro block. It features 11-degree cathedral port heads, twin TorqStorm Superchargers, and fully forged internals from Eagle Specialty Products and DSS Racing. Holley then added an LS swap oil pan, Lo-Ram intake manifold, and a Terminator X EFI system making thisthe ultimate drop-in solution for West.
