Anniversary Edition Celebrates 25 Years Of Callaway Competition

The Old Lyme, Connecticut company known as Callaway has been increasing Corvette’s performance since the mid-80s when they started working with GM on what would become the B2K (Twin-Turbo) Callaway Corvettes.

Since then, Callaway has been evolving the ways it garners more performance from each generation of Corvette. Their experience racing against some of the world’s greatest teams and drivers has afforded them a wealth of knowledge of what works, and why. They have continued to use that knowledge both in the States and abroad, with excellent results.

Callaway Competition was created in 1985 under the name “Wöhr & Ciccone”. In 1994, Callaway opened an office under the name “Callaway Competition” in cooperation with Ernst Wöhr and Giovanni Ciccone.

Callaway Cars have been building exquisite Corvettes ever since the C4 era with their B2K Corvette option offered directly through GM. The C5 Corvette continued to strike fear in the competition while appealing to the eyes of the enthusiast thanks to the Callaway wide-body beauties in molded carbon fiber.

Motorsports has always played a crucial role at Callaway. The marque possesses a legendary record at many of the world’s great race tracks: Spa, Suzuka, Paul Ricard, Nürburgring Nordschleife and GP courses, Monza, Vallelunga, Hockenheim, Daytona, Lime Rock, Road Atlanta, Sears Point, Laguna Seca, Charlotte, Texas World Speedway, Watkins Glen and Mugello.

Callaway Competition is the oldest team in the ADAC GT Masters series and started in 1993 with a Corvette C4 at the ADAC GT Cup. Since 2006, more than twenty GT3 Corvettes have been built at the Callaway Competition facilities in Leingarten. Callaway Competition campaigns its own GT3 race team and sells Corvette GT3 race cars and support parts and equipment to leading race teams throughout Europe.

Ernst Wöhr (Left) and Giovanni Ciccone (Right) have been integral to Callaway Competition since its inception. The team has steered Callaway Competition to the winner’s circle more than any other team in ADAC GT Masters history.

The Callaway Corvette C7-GT3R currently competes with world-class sports cars from Audi, Bentley, BMW, Mercedes-AMG, Lamborghini, and Porsche on several major European racetracks. Callaway Competition has constructed some of the most successful GT3 race cars in history and has recently earned the title of, “most successful race team” of the ADAC GT Masters series.

To commemorate Callaway Competition’s 25 years of operation, Callaway Cars is producing twenty-five specially-equipped “25th Anniversary Edition” Callaway Corvette SC757s. The 25th Anniversary Edition equips the Callaway Corvette SC757 road car for a more focused, track-oriented driving experience.

The 25th Anniversary Callaway Corvette builds from the already-capable C7 Z06 Corvette into a custom-designed street and track brawler like nothing else.

Doing so starts with the powerful Callaway SC757 Package, bringing 757 bhp/777 lb-ft torque to the C7 Z06 Corvette. To that, a heavy-duty cooling system is added to help keep this track monster from breaking a sweat during heavy track duty.

The Callaway 25th Anniversary Corvette upgrades the C7 Z06's cooling for even higher performance and comes with special air inlets to provide better cooling throughout.

Other additions include the Callaway Double-D Sport exhaust system, Callaway M7 short-throw shifter for manually-shifted cars, Callaway’s own GT3 rear spoiler with winglets, and a special Callaway commemorative 25th Anniversary interior and exterior package.

The Callaway GT-3R Corvette has raced around the globe, bringing numerous wins and championship titles into the Callaway Competition trophy case in Leingarten, Germany.

To add more go to the show, Callaway also offers a Bilstein MDS2 adjustable coilover damper system, Uniball spherical bearings for the control arms, rear toe rods, a harness bar, six-point harnesses, and a complete competition chassis setup as additional options in their Champion Package to ensure that your 25th Anniversary Callaway Competition Corvette has the same dominance on track as it does on the street.

If ultimate performance is the only answer, you can dig deeper into Callaway’s vault of go-fast goodies and incorporate more bits from Callaway’s racing experience. A set of Brembo 6-piston front brakes, surrounded by Callaway forged wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires will certainly make a good set of seat belts a necessity. A set of tow hooks (both front and rear) and a manually-operated carbon fiber seat will round out the package for severe track duty.

Options for ultimate performance include Bilstein coilover shocks and Uniball spherical bushings for each control arm.

For the 25th Anniversary Edition and optional Champion Package, the Callaway content is predefined and prices are fixed. Current Callaway Corvette owners enjoy a reduced price, however, as the cars are already fitted with some 25th Anniversary Edition standard equipment. Callaway sales staff can provide the owner with the amount of savings, specific to the particular car’s existing configuration.

To check out the Callaway Competition 25th Anniversary Corvette package, go to Callaway Cars’ website, where you can see all of the options available as well as spec out your own, personal, super-performing, Callaway Corvette. Don’t delay though, as Callaway plans on making only 25 of these special cars, and when they’re gone, they’re gone!
