ProCharger Teases Of Supercharged C8 Corvettes

Anyone familiar with boosting the performance of Corvettes is familiar with the name ProCharger. The company has been building big power in Corvettes and many other internal combustion engines for years.

The C8 Corvette has tossed the power-hungry into a bit of a tail-spin for many reasons. With an entirely new platform, new fueling systems, and of course, that “unhackable” ECU, the C8 Corvette has had the aftermarket scratching their heads for some time. We are just starting to see the dawn of what is possible with GM’s latest Corvette platform and some of the brightest minds in the room have been hard at work, supplying their customers with assurances that more is on the horizon for the new Corvette.

ProCharger states, “Our two Vettes have gone through rigorous testing and 1,000’s of miles to make this kit just right. We’re excited to share it with you all soon!” Like the rest of the world, we’re excited to HEAR more about it too!

A case in point is the new video released by ProCharger that teases us with not one, but TWO C8 Corvettes that reportedly feature ProChargers and produce 700 horsepower without dealing with that pesky ECU.

There isn’t much information given on the company’s website or in the just over five-minute video teaser, but there is enough engine-revving and exhaust note symphonics to highlight the difference between a supercharger and a turbo setup. The sounds from the exhaust with a supercharger aren’t as subdued as they would be after traveling through a pair of power carousels in the exhaust tract. Thanks to the belt-driven supercharger, this Corvette’s bark is still as bad as its bite!

The only hints given by ProCharger about the new supercharger system is that:

– Yes, its intercooled

– Yes, you can bolt it on

– Yes, it runs on pump gas

– Yes, burnouts come free of charge

Well, at least until you need to replace the tread on those rear tires! Other than that, enthusiasts are encouraged to check back as ProCharger releases more information about its newest Corvette system. For now, we have a five-minute video rife with some pretty sweet-sounding tall, skinny pedal action. Once more information is available, of course, we’ll let you know here as well.
