To say that 2020 was not a good year for car shows would be an understatement. Everyone and everything shut down as the world rode out the COVID-19 pandemic. But it’s now 2021 — and things are starting to get back to normal. Car shows are appearing on schedules again.
For Corvette fans, that means Corvettes at Carlisle. This Carlisle Events Corvette show for car-lovers still holds the title as the world’s largest Corvette-themed weekend. What can ‘Vette lovers look forward to at this year’s car show?
Welcome Back To Carlisle, PA
Corvette fans are excited to head back to Carlisle, Pennsylvania, for what many consider to be the event of the year. Corvettes at Carlisle is a three-day-long event, running from August 26 to 28, 2021, and brings together ‘Vette lovers from around the country so they can all celebrate their love for this iconic all-American sports car.
This year, you can enjoy Corvettes ranging from the brand-new C8 through every other generation of this classic. Some of the featured cars this year include a showcase focused on the Callaway Aerobody Corvette, the 1971 Corvette as it approaches its 50th anniversary, and the 25th anniversary of the Grand Sport Corvette.
There are plenty of different displays and events to choose from if you need more to enjoy.
A Chance To Bring Home A C8 Corvette
Perhaps one of the most exciting events at this year’s Corvettes at Carlisle is the raffle. Tickets are $125 each, and the proceeds benefit the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation as the winner has the chance to bring home a 2021 C8 Corvette.
It’s not the new electric C8 on the prize docket, but after decades of waiting for a C8 mid-engine ‘Vette, being able to bring one home for the low, low price of a $125 raffle ticket is a chance that’s too good to pass up. Plus, the proceeds benefit a great cause. So it’s a win-win in our books!
A Salute To Law Enforcement
Chip’s Choice for this year’s event is a salute to law enforcement and the Corvettes they own, show, and drive. For those who are fans of our boys in blue, you can also enjoy a law-enforcement-themed stage presentation and parade that features local officers from surrounding counties. It’s a great way to show our appreciation for everything these officers do on a daily basis.
The Annual Corvette Parade And Street Party
We missed it last year, but the annual Corvette Parade and Street Party is back on the schedule and is planned for Saturday, August 28, from 7:00 p.m. to sunset.
It’s a fantastic way for members of the Corvette community to get together, chat, and mingle, all while enjoying a parade of their favorite sports cars and what will likely be a gorgeous Pennsylvania sunset.
Will You Be There?
Corvettes at Carlisle runs for three days, and there is bound to be something for everyone. Will you be there? What are you most excited to see at this event, now that car shows are back on the schedule?
