The First Camaro ZL1 Collector Edition Hits Barrett-Jackson

Chevrolet marked the end of the sixth-generation Camaro’s run in 2024, leaving many fans saddened by the muscle car’s departure. For collectors looking to capture a piece of that final chapter, a certain car crosses the auction block this weekend: the very first 2024 Camaro ZL1 Collector Edition ever built. This specific Camaro will head to the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach auction, running April 24–26 in Florida. Its status as serial number 001 out of the limited 350 ZL1 Collector Editions produced gets confirmed by a unique panther badge identifier found on the steering wheel.

Chevrolet created the Collector Edition package across various trims to commemorate the Camaro’s final model year, making just 1,335 total units. The ZL1 version represents the top performance tier of that special run.

Beyond its first-built status, this car is considered to be near brand-new, showing only 85 miles on its odometer. The ZL1 Collector Edition package features distinct content setting it apart.

It wears exclusive Panther Black Matte paint, accented by a Black Metallic center stripe running over the hood and roof. Special badging appears throughout, along with a Mosaic Black finish on the front splitter and grille area, plus a prominent carbon fiber rear spoiler.

Under the hood lies the familiar powerhouse from the standard ZL1: the supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8 engine. It represents one of the final applications of this potent V8 in a Camaro from the Lansing Grand River assembly plant in Michigan.

The combination of being the very first example of a limited final-edition package for a discontinued iconic model makes this Camaro highly desirable among collectors. It’s difficult to speculate prices, but number 334 of 350 sold on Bring-A-Trailer in January for only $110,00 while at Barret-Jackson last fall in Scottsdale number 22 of 350 sold for $236,500.

This Camaro ZL1 marks both the very first Collector Edition built and one of the final V8 chapters for the iconic car. Number 001 (VIN:1G1FJ1R6XR0100021) hitting the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach block offers a rare shot for one collector to grab a truly unique piece of muscle car history this weekend.
