The FR-S and BRZ are both widely controversial platforms within the car community. Some love the vehicle’s handling capabilities and their aggressive body lines, others hate how slow it is– period.
Vorshlag Motorsports has already developed many parts for the FR-S and BRZ but wanted to mix things up. After installing some of their suspension parts in their in-house project car, they quickly came to the conclusion that it could be transformed into quite an impressive track car with not too much work. Unfortunately, it still will always be lacking one thing that every road race application needs–power.
So, what else would they choose to do other than swap in everyone’s favorite “go-to” motor–the LSX.
“The simplicity, reliability, low weight, compact size, aftermarket support, power potential, and just raw power of the OHV aluminum LSX V8 is hard to ignore,” Vorshlag says.
Vorshlag has officially began fabricating LS swap parts for the Toyota 86, FR-S, and BRZ. They plan to release motor mounts, a transmission crossmember, a custom Tremec Magnum XL transmission, a hydraulic clutch, a driveshaft, and more for sale to the public soon.
Currently, Vorshlag has many other motor swap parts in the process of development, but claim this new addition won’t slow down any project’s progression. They plan to update their blog over time, with the next update being released quickly after the SEMA show.
If you are interested, their website will soon be updated, or you can call them directly to order.
