Every car nut has a vision of their dream car engrained in their head at one point in their life or another. The thing about dream cars is that they can either stay a dream, or ultimately become a reality.

Grassroots Motorsports forum member, rscocca, is one of those guys who has been waiting to build his dream machine for quite some time, and last year he pulled the trigger on the project. Rscocca purchased an Ultima GTR kit car in January of 2014 and hasn’t looked back since. The car was delivered to his house in two separate crates, one containing the body and the frame, and the other containing all of the go-fast goodies that he ordered with the kit.

For the build, rscocca decided to go with the powerful, reliable, almighty LS7 crate engine and a Porsche G50 transaxle. The LS7 isn’t stock by any means, either, as rscocca had a Stage 3 Granatelli camshaft, Katech high-volume ported intake manifold, and an ARE dry-sump oil pan installed before it went in the car. He also had a cool carbon fiber intake snorkel made as well. The massive brakes at all four corners are AP Racing 4-pot calipers with drilled and slotted rotors; a must for the kind of speeds this car is able to achieve.

All of the work on rscocca’s Ultima GTR was done by himself in his garage, and damn does it look great. The interior is simple, yet ergonomic, and everything else just seems to be really well-sorted. He’s been wanting to take on this build for a while, so it only makes sense to do it right the first time. We hope rscocca gets plenty of use out of his creation, and puts it through its paces more often than not. Have fun with it!
