The 4th Generation Chevy Camaro and Pontiac Firebird have never been more popular for performance enthusiasts – they’re an affordable foundation for everything from building a corner-carving track day car to a dedicated dragstrip weapon. For racing and high performance street applications, their solid axle design is a great starting point, but the factory torque arm mount that puts suspension loads through the transmission housing can be a potential Achilles heel.
To solve that problem, industry leader BMR Suspension has created two different tunnel-mount torque arm systems for these popular cars. They provide a load path for driveline loads to the chassis instead of the transmission, and offer a five-position front mount for instant center and pinion angle adjustment. Their design also adds chassis rigidity, and the forward mount can be ordered with an NHRA-legal driveshaft loop for drag racing applications, or one can be added after-the-fact.

Made from 1.25-inch, .120 wall tubing, the torque arm features a chromoly adjuster for on-car fine tuning of pinion angle. BMR offers their 4th Gen chassis mount torque arm in designs for both standard exhaust Y-pipe layouts, as well as for long tube headers and true dual exhaust systems.
