_MG_8283One of the first booths to catch our attention when entering the main hall at SEMA, was the Advanced Clutch Technology (ACT) booth thanks to the bright layout and broken down clutches climbing their display panels.

We were able to spend a few minutes with Rich Barsamian who said, “We have a new clutch for the VW Golf and Jetta shown here in the new six-puck design which is quite light and should be great for both street driving and competition purposes.”

_MG_8281Accompanying the broken down display of this clutch was an ACT flywheel on which Rich commented, “All of our gears are actually machined in versus a pressed-on ring, thus eliminating the chance of a ring flying off under use.” This is one main mark of a quality flywheel, and a definite area to pay attention to when purchasing a new flywheel, especially if you are going to be putting the car through its paces via had driving or racing.

Lastly Rich mentioned, “We also have a new clutch for the 2012-2014 Honda Civic SI as well as some new clutches for Audi as we are now venturing into a lot of the euro stuff including: Audi, VW, and BMW for our first targets.”

We are happy to hear that ACT will be venturing further into the import markets, for both Japanese and European applications, as their products are certainly one you can count on. Check out their site with the link listed below!
