With the 2015 model year marking the end of the road for the 5th gen Camaro, Chevrolet is ending things on a high note with a special Commemorative Edition package. Unveiled at this year’s SEMA show, the package is available in five exterior colors: Black, Summit White, Red Hot, Silver Ice, and Ashen Gray, with an exclusive Adrenaline Red interior.
Other unique features are a new 20-inch wheel design, a body-colored accessory front splitter and available hood insert, as well as the spoiler borrowed from the ZL1. The cars get Commemorative Edition badging, as well as color-coordinated stripes in silver, gray, or black.
In terms of performance, the special edition cars use regular production drivetrains – the 2LT version has the 323 horsepower V6, while the V8 2SS offers 400 horsepower with the automatic and 426 with the stick.
Trucks were also a point of emphasis for Chevy this year – the 2015 Silverado won SEMA’s “Hottest Truck” award, and the Silverado High Desert concept showed a lot of ideas that are sure to make it into production, like a factory cold air induction and performance exhaust system, 16-inch slotted front brake rotors with Brembo 6-piston calipers, and a lockable, water resistant bed storage system.
The real star of Chevy’s truck contingent was the concept Colorado built with input from motocross legend Ricky Carmichael. While it was clearly more of a styling exercise than the ready-for-the-road Silverado High Desert, it demonstrated how Chevrolet envisions people using their newly redesigned mid-size pickup.
