As Corvette folks we all love a well sorted interior. We also like to accessorize and protect our “Plastic Fantastic” sports cars. While strolling through the labrinyth that is SEMA, we stopped by Lloyd Mat’s display and talked with President Brendan Dooley and VP/Marketing Directer Gary Lavender. The duo shared with us the backstory of their company that makes the highest quality floor coverings for not just Corvette, but most any car you can think of.
Gary relayed their history to us,”Lloyd Mats are proudly made in America since 1978, but we got our start making specialty carpet and tapestries in 1974. We became an employee-owned company in 1999, when it was purchased from founder Lloyd Levine. As owners, every employee takes pride and responsibility for producing the finest quality floor mats and providing the highest level of service in the automotive aftermarket.”
“Some things improve with age,” Gary continued. “Our long history has allowed Lloyd Mats to develop the most complete library of vehicle application-specific patterns in the custom floor mat industry.”
“Our patterns and vehicle data are not only unique because of the sheer numbers (over 12,000 different patterns and applications) but because of the extensive knowledge base we’ve developed. Anchoring device type and location, seating configurations, interior color options and logos. This information accumulates over time and is nearly impossible to gather well after the fact. That’s why Lloyd Mats offers more colors, logos, vehicle fitments and product types than any other mat company.”
We can attest to the quality and were impressed with what we saw in person. We got a heads up from the guys telling us that they’ll be introducing C7 Grand Sport mats in the very near future. Be sure and check out their website for all the details, ordering info and pricing.
