A few weeks ago, we told you about the D3 CTS-V that was getting the wide-body treatment for display at this year’s SEMA show. Well, here it is kiddies, in completed form and all its beastly glory. Please allow us to introduce you to “Le Monstre,” centerpiece of the Toyo Tires booth:
“Le Monstre” CTS-V is the latest impressive project from D3 Cadillac, that has had its fenders widened both front and rear to help it swallow Toyo Proxes T1R 275/30ZR20 tires in the front, and behemoth 345/25ZR20’s in the rear, that are wrapped over 20×9.5 and 20×12 Rennen Wheels. We’re told that for time attack duty (yes, this isn’t a turntable princess – they are going to race it) the car will wear Proxes R888 competition rubber beneath its stretched sheetmetal.
The name “Le Monstre” comes from a nickname that the French press gave to the 1950 Cadillac Series 61 that was being driven in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1950, and the modern Le Monstre more than lives up to its name. It can more than back up its aggressive wide-body stance with plenty of power from its supercharged 7.0L LSX engine, which produces just over 1,000 HP and 1,000 pound feet of torque. Le Monstre gets its stance from a full KW coilover set up, and derives its aggressive looks from an array of D3 components including a ventilated hood and a carbon fiber chin splitter all wrapped up in a full flat-black body wrap.
As we mentioned, Le Monstre isn’t just going to be used as a show car, and D3 plans to race the car extensively. We plan to keep a sharp eye out for it, and will bring you any news we hear about this track monster in action. Check out D3’s Website for more info on all of their late-model Cadillac performance parts.
