During this year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, we had the opportunity to catch up with Matt Snow of Snow Performance – the quintessential water-methanol injection experts.

“We’ve heard for a long time from tuners that they’d like to have more adjustability in their water-meth system,” Matt Snow told us. “We’ve had variable controllers that have run off of various parameters that are important to provide correct injection, but we wanted to take it to the next level. We developed what we call the Platinum system, which uses a PC-based system that has a similar protocol to tuning software.”

Snow said that the system has typical mapping where enthusiasts can bring their inputs into a 3-D map, allowing for infinite adjustability.

“One of the most important things to keep in mind, is that most engines are prone to detonation at the peak torque point of the engine – which is not at the lower or higher RPM,” Snow continued. “We had to find a way to provide variable injection based on the peak torque point of the engine, and this system solves that.”

“Another benefit of this system, is that its water-meth tunes are transferable over the internet, just like a regular vehicle tune. The system uses full data acquisition, and we can show data in real time [or playback for later] based on whichever parameter we input.”
