Trans Am Worldwide is famous for turning modern Camaros into Trans Ams, but at SEMA 2025, they brought something specifically for the heavy-hitting Chevy faithful. They showcased their stunning 70/SS models, a modern reimagining of the 1970 Chevelle. It’s a jaw-dropping combination of classic muscle car aesthetics and modern engineering that stopped traffic at the show.

A Carbon-Fiber Widebody

This isn’t just a simple body kit. The team takes a Gen VI Camaro Alpha chassis and gives it a complete carbon-fiber overhaul. We aren’t just talking about a hood; every panel—from the fenders and door skins to the quarters and trunk—is replaced. The result is a car that is a full six inches wider than the donor chassis, giving it a menacing, road-hugging stance that demands attention.

Powering The 70/SS Models

The beauty of this platform is the variety. Trans Am Worldwide offers three distinct packages for the 70/SS models. It starts with the Base package, utilizing the 450-horsepower LT1 found in the factory Camaro SS. Stepping up to the 396 Heritage brings a 402-cubic-inch stroker that can push 900 horsepower with twin turbos. Then there is the Head Honcho: the limited-edition 454 LS6X. This iron-block monster can be configured with a twin-turbo drag package capable of a terrifying 1,500 horsepower.

Handling The Horsepower

To keep that power on the road, the suspension gets a major rework. The car features lowering springs, high-performance shocks, and stiffer sway bars. It rolls on massive wheels—either classic rally-style or Mach V designs—wrapped in sticky Michelin rubber measuring 335 mm in the rear. Inside, the cabin gets a retro makeover with reskinned leather seats, a custom steering wheel, and a classic “horseshoe” or Hurst shifter.

Sticker Shock And Awe

These builds are exclusive, and the price reflects that. Entry-level versions start near $200,000, while the top-tier LS6X can surpass $400,000. Despite the high cost, the booth was packed all week. For those with the budget, these 70/SS models offer the ultimate way to drive a 1970 legend with the reliability and performance of a modern supercar.
