This fifth-generation Camaro recently rolled across the auction block at Barrett-Jackson’s Houston 2022 event in October. The fifth generation of Camaro production just got rolling when this car was built in 2010, but what makes this car so special is that it is the last of its kind. The Callaway/Hendrick edition Camaro has a pedigree that is second to none.
The folks at Callaway Cars are known for their performance variants of automobiles and have been boosting the performance of GM vehicles ever since RPO B2K became a thing back in the late eighties. Likewise, Rick Hendrick is no slouch when it comes to automotive performance. When these two powerhouses joined forces to create a limited run of Chevrolet Camaros, the world took notice.

Each of the 25 special edition Camaros built received its own numbered dash plaque. This car wears a plaque denoting it as the last one produced.
The Callaway/Hendrick Camaros were built to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Hendrick Motorsports. There were only 25 of these rare and highly horse-powered Camaros built, and this one is the very last one ever offered to the world. The car made 582 horsepower from its 6.2L engine thanks to a Callaway TVS2300 supercharger, high-flow intake system, and special Callaway exhaust. A special PowerWindow hood makes room for the supercharger and announces its presence, even when sitting still.
Other modifications include a carbon fiber front splitter, rear spoiler, rear diffuser, and unique rocker panels. All the soft goods got a dose of marketing thanks to badging from both Hendrick and Callaway. A dash plaque, under hood plaque, headrests, and shifter knob bears the Hendrick logo while the engine covers and supercharger hearken to the Callaway connection.

Signatures of both Rick Hendrick and Reeves Callaway adorn the carbon fiber engine covers along with the Hendrick Motorsports and Callaway logos.
The car was offered at Barrett’s Houston event with a complete documentation package, including the serialized plate denoting this as the last car produced. On Friday, October 21, the hammer dropped on the Callaway/Hendrick Motorsports 25th Anniversary Camaro with a final bid of $250,000. The car was offered as a fundraiser for Operation Homefront, an organization helping military families with housing and other financial burdens, and 100 percent of the selling price was given to the charity to help those in need.
Barrett-Jackson has embraced numerous charities throughout the years, and their auctions have become headliners throughout the globe. Barrett-Jackson’s next auction will be the massive event in Scottsdale, Arizona, on January 21-29, 2023. The action will be televised, or you can check out the sights and sounds in person. Either way, there will be a LOT to see!
