For the past 20 years, the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation (CMAF) has been working diligently to help families affected by and support early detection of this rare, but fatal disease that claimed the life of Carlisle Events co-founder Chip Miller. The foundation holds numerous fundraising events to help find a cure for this dreaded disease. This year, Barrett-Jackson joined forces with the CMAF and together, helped raise nearly $300,000 for amyloidosis research with the sale of the CMAF 2023 Corvette Z06.

The CMAF 2023 Corvette Z06 had previously been part of the CMAF’s 2022-23 Corvette Contest and although it was awarded in October, the grand prize winner opted for the cash payout. This gave the foundation a highly sought-after car and a renewed opportunity to benefit the foundation.

On Thursday, January 25, 2024, Lance Miller, president of the CMAF, and the team from Barrett-Jackson crossed the block along with the CMAF 2023 Corvette Z06. The car was consigned with the auction house to be offered at Barrett-Jackson’s 2024 Scottsdale event. During the event, the car, the CMAF staff, and the Barrett-Jackson auction company were elated to see the Corvette bring in nearly $300,000 to help those in need and to finance further research for a cure for this dreaded disease. The car rolled off of the auction block with a selling price of $220,000, but many donations of support were expressed even before the sale.

“Prior to the sale, a dear friend walked up to me and handed me a check for $5,000, but that wasn’t the end of it,” noted Miller.  “As I was leaving, another friend walked up and hugged me.  In addition, he told me that he and his family would be donating $50,000 towards the CMAF,” continued Miller.

The CMAF will host a variety of events in 2024 and is currently supporting another Corvette Contest, this time with a 1959 Corvette Restomod as the grand prize.
