Interest surged after a now-removed video from Rick Conti briefly circulated online. Its disappearance only intensified speculation, with Corvette fans scrutinizing every known detail.

This news followed earlier reporting that General Motors was developing two Gen VI V8 engines, a 5.7-liter and a 6.6-liter, intended for use across the Corvette lineup and select Chevrolet trucks. Until recently, the 6.6-liter option was widely believed to be the LS6. That assumption has now been corrected.

The updated information comes from the GM Parts Book, a restricted internal resource used by GM technicians. The Parts Book has a proven history of revealing accurate Corvette information ahead of official announcements. In 2023, it correctly detailed the C8 ZR1’s LT7 engine configuration well before GM confirmed it publicly.

As reported by Corvette Blogger, JMB56 of the MidEngineCorvetteForum uncovered a new LS6 listing tied to future Regular Production Option codes for the 2027 model year. The listing identifies the engine as a 6.7-liter Gen VI aluminum V8 using an overhead-valve design and both direct and port fuel injection.

A GM-connected source has reportedly verified the displacement, confirming the C8 LS6 as a 6.7-liter engine. While official performance figures remain unknown, this information provides the clearest picture yet of what may power the next Corvette Grand Sport.
