Seriously, though, when was the last time you saw a classic muscle car set up to tackle a drift circuit? Sure, there are occasionally interesting drift builds (a lot of them with LS swaps) that circulate the internet every once in a while, but certainly not a ’67 Camaro.

This classic Camaro build isn’t new by any means, but it’s new to us and we find this car to be pretty awesome. Put together by the guys at Speedshop Drift Team over in France and driven by Raffaele Zanato, this first-gen Camaro features a naturally-aspirated LS3 that has been bored and stroked to 6.8 liters. We can’t really find much more info on the powerplant in this Camaro, but by pictures alone, we can tell that it has a FAST intake manifold, and what looks like a Nick Williams 102-mm throttle body. Power output for this Camaro is rated at 600 horsepower to the wheels.

We don’t see classic muscle cars virtually at all drifting competitively in the states, unless you count the times Mike Peters campaigned an El Camino in the early stages of the Formula Drift series. There has to be a reason why muscle cars aren’t seen in professional drift championships… oh, wait, they’re ridiculously heavy. And you can see the heaviness when this Camaro is hucked into a corner. It just doesn’t switch directions as fast as some of the other cars do, but that’s okay, it’s still awesome to watch.

We really hope to see more of this car in the near future, and we wish the team the best of luck in the 2015 French Drift Championship.
