We knew it was only a matter of time before it happened. As dealerships started receiving the wildly popular 2020 C8 Corvettes that are unsold, they would mark them up. We have seen several C8’s online recently where dealerships have inflated the prices of the new car over $100,000. While this $40,000 increase might seem ridiculous, it’s nothing compared to what a Norwegian man spent to get his hands on one.

So what does it cost to import the first 2020 Corvette to Norway? According to Carbuzz.com the $60,000 base model C8 made it’s way across the pond for a total of $277,966. While paying over 4.5 times the original price of a car sounds ridiculous, and it is, the Black C8 will be the first one of its kind in Norway.

If you were going to import a C8 for $277,966 would you spend a little more and get something other than a base model? Carbuzz states that this particular Corvette isn’t “fully-specced” and that it’s missing the Z51 package and GT2 seat option. While more options might only be a few more thousand dollars in the US, it’s likely these added options would have driven the cost up over $300,000. But at this point, why not? After all, it’s only money, and obviously, the owner of this new C8 has it. Another problem with this transaction is shipping. It’s not a timely process as you can imagine, and it took the Corvette 4 weeks before hitting its destination.

For $277,966, you could own a lot of wild cars like a Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, or a Maserati, to name a few. But if you’re a real Corvette lover, and money is no object, maybe it isn’t that big of a deal for the first and currently only C8 in the country.
