The battle for supremacy on the GM mid-engine platform just got a lot more heated. Boost District headed out for a family track night with a fleet of heavy hitters, including a brand-new ZR1 and their twin-turbo E-Ray. While the goal was simply to test setups and gather data on the new builds, the night ended with history being rewritten. Roshan Gto piloted their E-Ray down the strip to claim the title of the fastest C8 E-Ray in the world.

Shaking Down The Fleet

Before the record-breaking pass, the team put the rest of the stable through its paces. The shop’s new ZR1 struggled to find its footing, running a 10.70 pass that left the team wanting more from the factory flagship. However, a client’s build stole the show early on; Jim’s BD1000 Stingray ripped a 9.74-second quarter-mile on 93 octane, pulling a massive wheelie in the process. Roshan highlighted the contrast between the factory engineering and their aftermarket solution: “We’re going to try to see if we can line it side by side to show you guys a Boost District 1,000-horsepower build and a GM OEM 1,000-horsepower build.”

Resetting The Fastest C8 E-Ray Record

The main event featured the E-Ray, which hadn’t seen the track in three months. Launching violently with a 1.48 60-foot time, the hybrid supercar actually lifted the front wheels during the shift into second gear—a terrifying feat at that speed. The board lit up with an 8.62 at 165 mph, officially dethroning the previous 8.64-second record. Roshan couldn’t believe the sensation inside the cockpit: “I’ve never had that feeling ever; that thing power wheelie, the bunny hop.”

Backing It Up And Breaking Parts

To prove it wasn’t a fluke, the team sent the E-Ray back out for a reassurance pass, clocking a solid 8.80 despite the driver fighting the steering down the lane. The night also saw their supercharged giveaway truck embarrass a stock Audi R8 with a 10.67-second run. Unfortunately, the session ended on a sour note when the shop’s twin-turbo Stingray snapped an axle stub at the starting line, spilling fluid and ending the night early.

The Hybrid King

Despite the carnage at the end, the night was a massive victory for the Texas-based shop. It managed to push the platform further than anyone else without resorting to piggyback computers or complex port injection systems. With a time of 8.62 seconds, Boost District now holds the undisputed title for the world’s fastest C8 E-Ray, proving that the hybrid Corvette is capable of dominating the dragstrip with the right twin-turbo setup.
