Roshan, CEO of Boost District, has been at the forefront of pushing the C8 Corvette platform beyond factory limits. Already known for building some of the fastest LT2-powered Stingrays in the quarter-mile, his shop has become the destination for serious C8 performance with both turbocharged and supercharged setups. Last year, Roshan shifted focus to the hybrid-powered E-Ray, and his latest build has officially become the quickest E-Ray in the world.
Using a pair of Precision 6466 turbos, the Boost District twin-turbo E-Ray can be dialed in for as little as 640 wheel horsepower on just 6 psi of boost. With the right supporting mods, however, the system is capable of producing over 1,000 wheel horsepower. To achieve that level of output, Roshan’s E-Ray build includes forged pistons in the LT2 engine, along with a Dodson Motorsport clutch upgrade for the factory DCT transmission.
The car also continues to use its factory direct injection setup, which has been upgraded with Lingenfelter’s big bore high-pressure fuel pump and stage one injectors, which means there is no need for secondary port injection. A set of beadlock wheels with Mickey Thompson ET Street tires helps plant over 1000 horsepower to the rear and 160-horsepower to the front.
What makes tuning the E-Ray so complex is integrating the front-mounted electric drive with the rear-wheel twin-turbo setup for the launch. Roshan has spent countless hours refining the calibration and launch control to maximize the benefits of the all-wheel-drive system. Along the way, Boost District set several milestones, including quarter-mile times of 9.70-seconds, 9.50-seconds, and 9.38 seconds.
But on July 1st, Roshan finally nailed the pass he and his team at Boost District were chasing: 8.891 seconds at 156.67 mph. That quarter-mile run officially made the Boost District E-Ray the quickest E-Ray of its kind anywhere in the world! With the recently announced ZR1X, a factory C8 equipped with hybrid front-drive and a twin-turbo V8 that also achieves single-digit quarter-mile times, this is a massive achievement for the entry-level hybrid C8 platform and a testament to Roshan’s relentless development.
